Maisons de Marseille – Family-friendly Accommodation in Marseille
Just a stone’s throw from the Vieux Port and Cours Julien, Maisons de Marseille is a series of apartments in the heart of Marseille. They boast self-catering kitchens for a convenient stay while being hidden in a quintessential Marseille neighbourhood. Aside from studio options for couples and multi-bedroom apartments for families, there’s also a communal boules court and a tranquil garden where you can soak up the sunshine.
Marseille’s history-drenched Old Port is just 10 minutes’ walk from the Maisons de Marseille while the Cours Julien is five minutes away. The Musée d’Histoire and the Musée des Docks Romains are both accessible on foot, as is the centuries-old Fort Saint-Jean and the renowned MuCEM.
The apartments are easily accessible from the Noailles subway station, as well as the main railway station of Gare Saint Charles where trains arrive from and depart to destinations across Europe. Parking is available onsite while a taxi from the Marseille Provence Airport takes around 25 minutes.
Fully-equipped kitchens including ovens and dishwashers feature in most of the apartments, with the smaller studios offering a kitchenette with a refrigerator, toaster and electric kettle. Supermarkets (both big and small) are within walking distance so you can stock up on groceries and prepare your own meals.
Alternatively, there are numerous cafes in the surrounding streets where you can enjoy a leisurely French breakfast, as well as global eateries that are open for both lunch and dinner.
The Maisons de Marseille are designed in a contemporary style, with boldly coloured walls and furnishings that draw the eye. Retro-inspired lamps and posters add an eclectic touch to some of the apartments while others feature thought-provoking photographic works. The functional kitchens are spotlessly clean and equipped with modern appliances and utensils.
All of the apartments offer self-catering facilities, including either kitchenettes or fully-equipped kitchens. Studio Perché and the ground-floor Mini Loft are designed for friends or couples travelling together, with double beds, en-suite bathrooms and cosy living areas.
Guests travelling with kids can take advantage of the Mini Lofts and Deluxe Suites, which can accommodate up to four people or the GrandAppart that has the capacity for six. Books, DVDs and board games are also available to keep young guests entertained.
None of the rooms at the Maisons de Marseille have been adapted for wheelchair access and there is no lift available.
The reception at Maisons de Marseille is open 24 hours a day to attend to guests’ needs and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Pets are welcome to stay with you on a case-by-case basis, although additional charges may apply.
There’s an outdoor terrace where you can soak up the sun and a boules court for meeting other guests, in addition to private balconies in some of the apartments.
