Hotel Crillon le Brave – Luxury Hotel in Provence
Scattered across eight buildings in a hilltop village, the Hotel Crillon le Brave is a five-star hideout that celebrates the lifestyle and gastronomy of Provence. Fine-dining restaurants, a luxurious spa and a sparkling swimming pool are interspersed with the rooms and suites, and each of the stone buildings has its own story to tell. Alluring outdoor terraces and cosy indoor lounges invite guests to linger, with spaces designed for doing blissfully little.
Hotel Crillon le Brave is situated just east of Caromb and 15 minutes’ drive from the ancient city of Carpentras. The stone ramparts and immense Palais des Papes of Avignon are just under 40 minutes away.
And while Avignon’s cultural and artistic museums are easily accessible, Hotel Crillon le Brave is a destination in itself where guests are invited to do as much or as little as they desire. The region is dotted with medieval villages and Roman landmarks to discover, together with wineries, farmers’ markets and golf courses.
A delectable breakfast buffet is served each morning on the courtyard terrace, with preserved fruits, pastries and homemade local delicacies among the spread.
A champagne brunch is held each Sunday at La Table du Ventoux while chef Anissa Boulesteix transforms regional products into gastronomic delights on the lunch and dinner menus. Sit back and enjoy live music during the dinner service twice weekly or book a table at Restaurant La Madeleine where the authentic Mediterranean and Provençal fare is showcased.
Authenticity and charm are words that come to mind as soon as you step into this five-star sanctuary. Red-tiled floors and the warm colours characteristic of Provence feature in the rooms and suites, with the understated decor exuding luxury in its simplicity.
Antique furniture, fine linen and cosy throws create an intimate ambience while expansive windows invite the surrounding countryside and views of Mt Ventoux inside.
Each of the 15 rooms and 18 suites features a king-size bed, flatscreen TV and iPod docking station, with some also boasting ornate fireplaces. Oversized tubs are a highlight of the en-suite bathrooms, together with twin basins designed for couples. Guests can opt to stay in the original hotel building of Maison Roche or the studio of artist Marc Soudain, with the former stables of Maison Reboul now occupied by two luxurious bedrooms.
Families are well-catered for in the standalone property La Sousto, which was formerly the home of leading Provençal academic and author Noel Marmottan. It features a ground floor lounge and two small bedrooms, each offering a bath or shower.
The Hotel Crillon le Brave doesn’t offer any accessible rooms for those with limited mobility.
With sweeping views across the enchanting surrounds, the swimming pool of Hotel Crillon le Brave is the centrepiece of the village. For an indulgent escape, book in for a massage or beauty treatment at the Spa des Ecuries, which has a soundproof setting inside the former vaulted stone stables.
Mingle with other guests on the traditional boules court or rent a tandem bike to explore the surrounding countryside with your loved one. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property, with a 24-hour reception where currency exchange and concierge services are available.
